Hi,

I like to share with you one of my greatest adventures, the "Great Wall Marathon" http://www.great-wall-marathon.com which I surprisingly finished as 5th overall out of 100 International male and female runners.

The temperature of almost 35C on this day, the rough, hilly and 3700 steps plastered course are just the same terrain where I train here in Hong Kong and obviously give me a "home advantage" to this mostly oversee runners.

Best regards,

Hans

The Great Wall Marathon 2000

Probably one of the toughest, most beautiful and extraordinary marathons ever. A little crazy - but no extraordinary experiences are obtained ordinarily. The Great Wall Marathon is a tough course with exhausting ascents, steep descents and more than 3700 steps to conquer. But it is also a flat and scenic route through beautiful farmlands and small picturesque villages.

About The Great Wall Marathon

About 6 km of this exceptional marathon will actually take place on the Great Wall of China, which means that it will be run on incredibly steep ascents and descents, consisting of an unbelievable number of steps. Another part of the route consists of 10 km of asphalt road, which includes a long ascent and a long descent of up to 10%, demanding the utmost of the runners. The remaining 26 km are mostly on flat gravel roads through the countryside.
