Zoe is a Peak Road stray kitten from Cheung Chau Island which could be mistaken as a Gremlin lookalike.

She was the weakest of a litter of four as she has a cribbed left hind leg.

Her chances of survival were 1 to 100 until this lucky day on 4th October 08 when she decide to take the place of her mother.

as Eugen had setup a cat trap for her mother to get her de-sexed but than it was our brave Zoe who limped inside

and stayed until Eugen closed the trap.

If she not had done this, she would have properly not survived her first 100 days.

Eugen called Hans who brought her to the Phoenix clinic and with the help of some good and caring people

she got a chance to survive, hopefully a better leg and most important of all a loving home to purr.

Thanks to Eugen, Michelle, Ida and Hans.

from Eugen e-mail dated 05.10.08 "we are adhering to life now with our last muscle-the heart." The word "life" struck me as significant.

Since this kitten has been given a new lease on life let her be called "Zoe" the Greek word for life.

15.10.08 I visited Zoe this morning, an X-ray was done which showed that her hip is twisted and some of the important nerves and blood vessels are close by. Dr. Ewa send the X-ray to a specialist in Australia and ask for advise how to operate on her. Apparently due to her tiny size it is very challenging to operate on her tiny tendons. I met the new Vet Marietta Foo which is a very cheerful and warm lady and also a fan of our Zoe.

13.10.08 Today Vera and I visited Zoe at Phoenix clinic and got some wonderful news from Christine and Dr. Ewa. who discovered that Zoe has some feeling and movement sin her leg and there might be a chance to save Zoe left hind leg from amputation. This Wednesday they try to operate on it. So lets keep fingers crossed and pray for her.

The nurses said that she loves dry food and she loves to eat which explains the little belly she got since she is in the good care of the Phoenix human and cat crew.

10.10.08 Zoe is now 6 days at the Phoenix clinic and made her self some nice friends. The big male tabby cat has a hip injury and they both been just snuggling up on a pillow when I visited Zoe for the first time since I brought her to the clinic. During check-ups the Vets discovered two bite marks on her back which most properly been inflicted by a dog as she was not able to run away. I guess this kitten has not many of her 7 lives left and we hope she doe snot have to use what ever is left.

I was very happy to see her doing so well. She put on weight already . Also Phoenix resident cat came over to give Zoe an assuring lick.
